Kansas City photo stylist, Debbie Dusenberry, opened her first boutique, Curious Sofa in the Crossroads district of KC in 2000. The shop specialized in vintage items, neutral slipcovered furniture, and decorative objects. With a love for curating products and an unorthodox way of display, Debbie led Curious Sofa to became one of the nation's top independent boutiques and a destination shop for customers across the country.

For ten successful years, both Curious Sofa and Debbie's home were featured in many national, trade and local publications (see the press page) which led to a strong following on the shop's website, blog and Facebook page.

After ten years, Debbie closed her store to focus on online sales through the Curious Sofa website. Occasional pop up events and the website sales continued through September of 2017.
In June of 2017, Debbie returned to a more permanent brick and mortar store at Urban Mining Vintage Market; a 30 dealer, First Friday venue.
In July of 2018, Debbie decided to put Curious Sofa to rest and switch things up to another brand idea, Tobacco Road.
When she isn’t hunting for original goods at various antique shows across the country, Debbie spends her time managing the online store, design consulting, freelance styling, and selling as Tobacco Road during First Friday weekends at Urban Mining in Kansas City. Come see what's new every First Friday weekend at Urban Mining. Open Thursday 5-9 pm., Friday 9-9, Saturday 9-6, Sunday 12-5.
Dear Customer,
Every piece of merchandise on this website has been handpicked by me for its vintage appeal. Many items are antique or vintage and are therefore one of a kind (and sell fast!). A few items may be market finds that are great reproductions, more affordable and mix well with vintage decorating.
My mission is to find unique items, whether new or old, that appeal to decorating with vintage style. Sometimes feminine, sometimes masculine; a little country and a little boho; whatever has a great design or function.

I hope you find a little something for you or a friend, and please sign up to receive my emails  and Instagram letting you know when new vintage items have been posted.  Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!     - Deb
