Former Kansas City photo stylist, Deb Dusenberry, opened her first boutique, Curious Sofa in the Crossroads District of Kansas City in 2000. The shop specialized in vintage items, slipcovered furniture, and decorative objects. With a love for curating products and an unorthodox way of display, Debbie led Curious Sofa to become one of the nation's top independent boutiques and a destination shop for customers across the country.
For ten successful years, both Curious Sofa and Debbie's home were featured in many national, trade and local publications (see the press page) which led to a strong following on the shop's website, blog and Facebook page... and later Instagram .
In 2011, Debbie closed her store to focus on online sales through the Curious Sofa website and selling at monthly pop up venues around Kansas City.

On January 1, 2020, Debbie reopened a small Curious Sofa showroom inside Glenwood Antique Mall in Overland Park, KS; now including men's and women's fashion. Come see what's new: 9030 Metcalf Ave. Open Sunday 11-6, Monday - Wednesday 10-6, Thursday - Saturday 10-7.

Dear Customer,
Each piece of merchandise on this website has been handpicked by me for its vintage appeal. Many items are antique or vintage and are therefore one of a kind. A few items may be new market finds that are great reproductions, more affordable and mix well with vintage decorating.
My mission is to find unique items, whether new or old, that appeal to decorating or wearing with vintage style. Sometimes feminine, sometimes masculine; a little country and a little boho; whatever has a great design or function.
I hope you find a little something for you or a friend, and please sign up to receive my emails or follow on Instagram whichwilllet you know when new items have arrived.
